Disclosure: SpicySwingers publishes this blog. Pricing below is checked against each platform's own current published terms; always confirm live pricing before paying anything, as offers change.

FabSwingers: free, with optional donations

FabSwingers is free to use in full. There's no mandatory subscription. Optional Silver and Gold supporter tiers, priced around £5 to £12.50, are one-off payments for a fixed period (not recurring) that remove ads and add extras. Functionally, everything you need works without paying anything.

SpicySwingers: free during launch

Our platform, noted plainly. Registration is free and every premium feature, video calls, expiring messages, swipe matching, Who's Nearby, is unlocked for all members during the launch period. Premium pricing after launch is expected to sit around £5 a month, with a genuinely usable free tier remaining.

Swinging Heaven: freemium with real limits

Free to browse, but meaningful use, full profile access and communication, sits behind a paid tier from around £7 a month. The forums are accessible for free; the core matching experience mostly isn't.

SDC: paid-first

Subscription-based, running from around £20 for short trial periods up to roughly £200 for annual packages depending on offer and term. There's no meaningful free tier for ongoing use. The cost buys access to SDC's international events and travel ecosystem, which is where it earns its keep.

Feeld: freemium app pricing

Free tier is genuinely functional for matching and messaging. The paid Majestic tier, around £14 a month, adds seeing who's liked you and better discovery. Reasonable by mainstream dating app standards.

Killing Kittens: pay per event

Not a subscription model. Ticket prices for flagship masked parties typically start around £50 and rise for premium events, plus the cost of the vetting and membership process. This is materially more expensive per night than any platform above, because you're paying for a curated event rather than ongoing access.

What the pricing actually tells you

The free platforms, FabSwingers and SpicySwingers during launch, monetise differently: FabSwingers through advertising and voluntary donations, SpicySwingers by temporarily unlocking the full product to grow a verified community before introducing pricing. Neither approach is inherently better; they're different bets on what a healthy platform looks like.

The paid platforms, Swinging Heaven, SDC and Feeld's premium tier, gate genuine functionality behind payment, which is a reasonable trade if the specific features justify it for you. SDC's price only makes sense if you're using its events and travel ecosystem; paying for it purely to meet local UK couples is poor value given its thin British membership, covered in the separate SDC review on this blog.

The sensible approach

Run the free platforms first. FabSwingers and SpicySwingers cost nothing to try properly, and between them cover reach and modern features. Add a paid platform only when a specific need, forum culture, international travel, or app-based third-finding, justifies the cost.
