Local density

This is the decisive factor for most UK couples. SwingHub is built specifically around nearby discovery, and while its overall UK membership is still smaller than FabSwingers, it is meaningfully more locally focused than SDC, whose UK search results thin out fast outside London. If your goal is meeting someone near you this month rather than planning a trip, SwingHub's local-first design serves that better.

Safety and verification

SwingHub's AI-assisted verification, Blackout screenshot protection and offender-registry check are aimed squarely at everyday local safety. SDC offers its own verification options within a more travel-and-events-oriented product, with editorial content and resort partnerships built into the experience rather than local discovery tools.

Cost

SwingHub is free to download with premium discovery features behind a subscription. SDC runs a paid membership model from roughly £20 for a short trial up to around £200 for annual packages, depending on offers running at the time. Paying SDC's subscription purely to meet people locally in the UK is a hard case to make when a free, locally focused app exists instead.

Where SDC genuinely wins

International lifestyle travel. If your plans involve Desire Resorts, Hedonism, Cap d'Agde or a lifestyle cruise, SDC's integration with international events and resorts is the strongest in the industry, and its community is the one you will actually encounter at those venues. SwingHub has no equivalent international events infrastructure.

The honest recommendation

For everyday local UK contact: SwingHub, for the cost of nothing to start. For international lifestyle travel: SDC earns its subscription through its events and resort ecosystem alone. They are not really substitutes for each other, and a couple with both local ambitions and travel plans may reasonably end up using both for entirely different purposes.
